I first learned of perfect pitch when I was in high school - mainly because I did not have it. But it was also in high school that the seed for how to develop it was planted in my mind. That seed would not come to fruition, however, for more than a decade, when, at 28 years old, I developed perfect pitch and wrote this method to show how anyone can develop perfect pitch at any age.
Now, you may be thinking, “But don’t you have to be born with it? I thought you couldn’t develop it?” This is what I was taught as well. IT IS A MYTH. And I am living proof that it is a myth - along with a growing number of people. In fact, this myth was the biggest hurdle I had to overcome in developing it myself, and why it took over a decade for my initial seed to come to fruition.
Or maybe you're a little skeptical or even cynical of perfect pitch methods because you've tried one or two of them and they didn't work. I completely understand this. Before I developed perfect pitch, I tried my own share of methods - but none of them worked, not for a single pitch. Indeed, I now think some of these methods are a great disservice to the music community. Why? Because rather than dispelling the myths of perfect pitch, they actually propagate them when the method doesn't work! And this in turn breeds more skepticism and cynicism in people - not to mention frustration!
So let me reassure you: PERFECT PITCH CAN BE DEVELOPED, EVEN IF YOU'RE AN ADULT!
